The Burnout

I really got inspired…

The Burnout

I’m burning out with all of the passing philosophies
Revolting against another method of mechanism
I’ve lost myself in all these bullshit filled theories
One that gives idiots a higher level of spiritualism.

No such thing as the afterlife, I am deeply sorry
Tell your fairy to spread another bed time story
We wish to find something that’d make us important
That would make us feel better in our insignificance.

I’m not an idiot that cannot see past beyond this point
Or maybe I am, and I’m holding grudges with you all
So find a way to lose yourself in this misery, light a joint
And watch time pass slowly, as I quickly take the fall.

I’m burning out with all these right and wrong perceptions
Rebutting about the fact nobody comprehends this conception
I’ve lost myself in the foreign midst that leads to deception
Who can blame the ones who seek for some damn cognition?

No such thing as the ever after, I do apologize
Tell your preacher to spread another set of lies
We wish to find something that’d make us immortal
That would make us last forever in our ignorance.

I’m not an idiot that cannot see past beyond this point
Or maybe I am, and I’m holding grudges with you all
So find a way to lose yourself in this misery, light a joint
And watch time pass slowly, as I quickly take the fall.

Your invisible God might be as real as your fleshly one
One thing I concurred with is the blind leading the blind
I don’t think it takes a genius to truly fucking understand
But we prefer to be idiots, so we leave all reason behind.

  1. I love the expression you use. How you highlight the struggle between ourselves and our spiritual lives and society. I really enjoyed reading each word and the rich text both expressed and between the lines. I look forward to reading more like this.
